Ben M. Yokley, age 92, of Williamsville, passed away on Friday July 18, 2008 at Villa Health Care East in Sherman.
Survived by: Wife – Florence of Sherman Two Sons : John (Gay) Yokley of Wisconsin Thomas (Linda) Yokley of Williamsville
Five Grandchildren
Seven Great-grandchildren Sister – Hester Ford of Chatsworth
Sister-in-law – Gertrude Yokley of Williamsville
Brother-in-law – Jesse Emberton of Kentucky Several Nieces and Nephews
He is preceded in death by his wife Helen; a son, Robert; a brother, Earl; and a sister, Alma Emberton.
Mr. Yokley was born on March 4, 1916 in Thompkinsville, Kentucky the son of Sidney and Harriett Rush Yokley.
He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Mr. Yokley was a member of the American Legion in Elkhart, the Riverton-Lavely Lodge #786, Ansar Shriners, and Williamsville United Methodist Church.
He served for the U.S. Army during World War II at Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Services will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, with visitation being held from 12:00 noon until time of service there at 1:00 PM on Tuesday.
Rev. Dick Piscatelli officiating.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
Memorials can be made to the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
