Wilma Jean Davis, age 74, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Jean was born on November 17, 1944 in Carlinville, IL the daughter of Kenneth and Buelah Bounds – Young.
Jean married Jim Davis on September 12, 1999 and they spent 19 wonderful years together.
She is preceded in death by both parents and one son, Dennis Settles.
Jean is survived by her husband, Jim Davis; one son, Bill (Annette) Settles; two grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Bilbrey and Dennis Settles; one great grandson, Maddox Bilbrey; one sister, Linda (Terry) Bridges and one brother, Kenny (Beth) Young.
She enjoyed traveling, loved motorcycles and seeing what was around the bend and over the hill. She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Athens as well as Living Faith Baptist Church in Sherman. She also was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation for Jean will be held on April 4, 2019 from 10-12 PM at New Life Baptist Church in Athens. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at 12:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church in Athens.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
Rev. Adam Cruse and Milt Crain will be officiating.

Jim, I am sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with her when we were members of IL-T. My prayers and thoughy=ts are with you and her family.

I am a classmate of Jean all 12 years. She was a good friend thru the years. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

We thank the Lord for every remembrance of this dear lady. It was a joy and privilege to have her in worship with us at the GLRV Church when she and Jim wintered in Florida. May the promises of the Risen Lord bring the much needed comfort that it needed at this time.

So Sorry for your loss Brother. Jean was great to be around. Had nice times with her on the rides to Carlinville to the State Park to have breakfast. Always a smile on her face.Enjoyed her coming to the Honor Flights and just chatting. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Our condolences and prayers for you and your family. She was always a ray of sunshine and will be missed by all who ever knew her. I know she was proud of being a part of the All the Way Gang and the Gang was proud to have her as a member. RIP Jean.
