William Gregory Seipel, age 61, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Greg is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Edna; children, Renee Crews, Mark (Kristi) Seipel and Scott Seipel; three sisters, Brenda (Bill Kmett) Jacob, Sandra (Frank) Waldrup and Susan (Greg) Thompson; three grandsons, Brandt, Brady and Braxton Crews; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Bill; and son-in-law, Damien Crews. Greg was born August 7, 1955 in Springfield, Illinois the son of William and Edna Mae Flagg Seipel. He retired from City Water, Light & Power after working there for more than 30 years. He then went on to retire from Prairie Power in January 2016. Visitation for Greg will be held on Sunday, November, 20, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10 AM at Zion Lutheran. Burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Springfield. Pastor Don Pritchard will officiate. Memorials can be sent to Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant Plains.

Saddened by your loss. I knew Greg through his studies at Sangamon State University/UIS while he worked for CWLP. Greg had the perfect temperament for management and was an enthusiastic learner who everyone wanted on their team. A group was always better off with Greg as a member. I hope fond memories provide you all comfort during this difficult time.
