Wilbur Fawns JR “J.R.”, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at his home in Williamsville, Illinois at the age of 92.
He was born in Tice, Illinois on April 28, 1932 to Wilbur Sr. and Ruth Bencenhafer Fawns.
He married Sharon Drendel in 1955 and she survives.
Also mourning his passing are his son, Brent (Kathleen) Fawns; daughter, Tracey (Mark) Tisckos; granddaughter, Stephanie Tisckos; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and George; and an infant sister, Shirley.
J.R. graduated from Williamsville High School and was a proud Korean War Army Veteran.
He operated Fawns Shell Station in Williamsville until his retirement. He was a lifelong diehard Chicago Cubs fan.
J.R. and Sharon cherished their little country Christian Church in Sweetwater, Illinois where they held membership for 38 years.
He loved nothing more than sharing time and memories with his family and friends.
Graveside services for J.R. will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2:30PM at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sweetwater Christian Church, PO Box 59, Greenview, Illinois 62642. J.R. has also requested that random acts of kindness be granted to others in his memory.
