Ruel Way, Sr. of Petersburg, formerly of Ashland died April 27, 2008 at his residence.
Survived by: Wife – Imogene Children -Joyce (Robert) Munter of Salem, MO -Ruel, Jr. (Betsy) Way of Bartlett, TN – Juanita (Jim) Hawks of Morton -Sharon (Doug) Wendler of Athens -Stanley (Kathy) Way of Iberia, MO Sixteen Grandchildren 32 Great-grandchildren Three Sisters – Betty -Dorothy – Geraldine One Brother -Kenny
Mr. Way was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother.
He was born September 11, 1919 in Virginia, Illinois, the son of Lee and Ruth Simmons Way.
He married Imogene Jones in 1941 in Bowling Green, Missouri.
Mr. Way served in the U.S. Army active duty from 1942 thru 1945 then the Army Reserves thru 1948 when he was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Way was a mechanic for Adkins Implement in his early years. He was shop foreman and salesman for Lockard Implement and later Cramer Implement. He then moved to the fertilizer industry where he was a salesman for Sudeth Fertilizer; plant manager for W.R. Grace & Co. and salesman for Art Anderson Fertilizer. After retirement he worked part time for R&H Farm Supply and loved wood working in his spare time.
He is a member of the Athens Christian Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and Elder. He was a former member of Ashland Church of Christ, where he was baptized and also served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Sponsor, Deacon, and Elder.
Services will be held at the Athens Christian on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to services. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at noon.

Aunt Imo and Family Just got the news today, Friday May 30th, about Uncle Bud. I have been off line for a couple of months. I am so sorry about your loss. Thinking about you all at this time and he will be sorely missed. Love you all.
