Gladys Turner, age 83, of Athens, passed away on August 9, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital.
Gladys is survived by her children; Floyd (Lauren) Turner Jr., Linda Lou (Dale) Abeln, Lisa Ann (Mike) Pusch all of Cantrall , Tracy Sue (David) Smith of Roodhouse & James Alan (Kristy) Turner of Lisle. She has 12 Grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Gladys was born October 31, 1928 in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Gladys Carman.
Gladys married Floyd Turner, Sr. on September 18, 1950 at the Church of Brethern in Springfield. Floyd preceded her in death on October 9, 2010. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Her family, grandkids, and great grandkids were her world.
She was a member of the Athens Christian Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, where friends may call from 10 to 11 AM with services following at 11 AM.
Rev. Chance Newingham officiating.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in the name of Gladys Turner to the Athens Christian Church.
