Timothy “Tim” Taylor, age 55, of Cantrall, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Tim was born on July 25, 1966 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Croft) Taylor. He married Sandra Stein on June 14, 1997. He was a 1985 graduate of Athens High School in Athens, Il.
Tim was a faithful husband, favorite brother and uncle. He was always a kid at heart and ready for fun. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bike rides and the companionship of his Siberian Huskies. Tim and his wife, Sandra, drove Route 66 to California just like his own father and grandfather had done.
Tim worked for McDonald Luxury Bath liners, as a driver for various car dealerships and at Meteer Farms.
Tim is survived by his wife Sandi; three sisters, Kathy (John) Landis of Minocqua, WI, Vicki Taylor of Virden, IL and Jody (Wade) Meteer of Athens, I; one sister-in-law, Deborah Banas of Chatham, IL; several nieces and nephews; and beloved pet, Gracie.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Kae Stein; Siberian Huskies, Shelbie and Moose.
Tim was a faithful man. He was a member of West Side Christian Church in Springfield, IL for over 40 years. Although he suffered through a lifetime of illnesses, he relied on his Christian faith and family to keep him strong. He was a fighter and had many life accomplishments that he never dreamed possible.
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. Thessalonians 4:13-14.
Visitation for Tim will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at West Side Christian Church in Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM also at the church. Burial will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: West Side Christian Church 2850 Cider Mill Ln, Springfield, IL 62702; Alan G. Birtch Center for Transplant Services at Memorial Medical Center Foundation for the Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, 701 N. First St., Springfield, IL 62781; or Adopt A Husky Inc, PO Box 87226, Carol Stream, IL 60188-7226.

Dear Sandy…and family,
Tim was a wonderful person. I always thot of him as a ‘kid’ even though he was all grown up! I am thankful for all the years he faithfully served in the prayer ministry at WSCC. Your family members are in my prayers. I know Margaret & Tom are rejoicing…
Love you, Shirley

Remembering time spent with Tim as a kid – playing in sheds, creating trails in the timber, running from wild dogs, establishing the T&Y (Taylor & Young) Club, and appreciating his drawings. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To Sandra and family,
I’m so sorry to hear of Tim’s death. He always seemed to have a smile on his face. If I had known sooner, I would definitely have come to his visitation. May God hold you during your grieving and may you feel him near.
