Smith, Alice

Alice Ruth Smith, age 99, of Cantrall, passed away on Saturday, February, 21, 2009 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

She is survived by: Son- Donald (Joan) Smith of Cantrall
Grandson : Vince E. (Molly) of Springfield
Three Great Grandchildren- Josh, Emma & Lauren
Many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews

Alice was born on April 2, 1909 in Cantrall, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Anna Wilcoxon. She married Clarence E. Smith, Jr. on March 15, 1930. He preceded her in death in April 1995.

She is also preceded in death by parents, brothers Raymond, Harold and Ralph Wilcoxon, sisters Dorothy Jensen, Mary Abell and Helen Downey.

Ms. Smith was a member of Cantrall Methodist Church and was formerly active in the Eastern Star. She retired from working at the Illinois State Police.And she was an avid fan of A.J. Foyt and Jeff Gordon.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 4:00 P.M. at Brittin Cemetery near Cantrall.
Rev. Gloria Davis will officiate.
