Sarah Benner, age 89, of Williamsville, passed away on Sunday October 30, 2016 at her residence.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) Lemme of Williamsville, Tom (Marty) Benner of Shelbyville, Nadine (Mark) Hayward of Sherman, Steve (Teresa) Benner of Williamsville, Dave (Lori) Benner of Buffalo; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Sarah was born on June 4, 1927 in Williamsville, IL, the daughter of Harry and Cora Drake Fleming.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; a sister, Helen Martin; and a brother, Charles Drake.
Sarah married Don Benner June 6, 1948 at the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
She worked for Menard Electric Cooperatives as a meter reader for several years. She was a member of the Williamsville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, serving as president for several years. Sarah was a 4-H leader for 20 years. She served as the Church Historian and was a founding member of the Williamsville Community Foundation and Williamsville Historical Museum.
Sarah loved having family members and friends around, cooking, sewing, and painting ceramics for everyone.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
Rev. Dick Piscatelli will be officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the Benner family.

Steve and family my heart breaks for all of you. What a wonderful woman and the angels sing on her arrival to celebrate eternal life. if I can do anything please let me know prayers of comfort for all of the family.

So sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. She was such a caring person. You are in my thoughts and prayers. It is so hard to lose those we love and who love us unconditionally.
