Samantha Denny, the bravest human her mother knew, age 24, of Athens, flew on, on Monday, May 3, 2021 in Springfield, Illinois.
She was born on April 18, 1997 in Springfield, the beloved daughter of Sara Denny.
Celebrating her life are her mother, Sara Denny; sisters, Sadie Denny and Jessica (fiancé Joseph Roberts) Kalb; honorary father, Charles Hinesley; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and dear friends, Raymee Bohn, Grace, Gabe, and Hannah Manning.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Denny; grandmother, Patricia Denny; and two uncles, Daniel Denny and Mark Denny.
Sammy graduated from Southeast High school and attended Lincoln Land Community College.
She was a member of the Black Sheep Club. Sammy worked for County Market in Sherman as a manager and Dew Chili Parlor.
She loved her family and friends, music, animals, parties, and clowns.
Visitation will be held on Saturday May 8, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Memorial contributions can be made to Mott & Henning Funeral Home. Celebration of her of life will be held at her residence for the party.
Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Sam at County Market . She was always so kind to everyone. She had a such fun spirit. She was a true joy to be around. Prayers for your family. I am going to miss her.

I am so sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. I remember her and Sadie coming over to swim and hang out with my girls. To Sam’s family, May God guide you to find comfort and peace during this difficult time. She will be missed.

I’m sorry for your loss. I worked with sam at county market and getting to know her and talking to her everyday was something I’ll never forget. She made going to work fun, she also had a smile on her face and was just the best to be around. I miss her now and will continue to miss her everyday. sending my prayers to the family.

You have my deepest condolences. Sammy was the best friend anyone could ever have. I’ll miss our talks, her words of encouragement, and her smile. My only regret is not seeing her as much as I should have. May she watch over her family and friends. Let her spirit live on by being as fierce, kind and free as she was.

Oh Sara, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of all the times at Jill and Dave’s house when
