Robert E. Altig, age 82, of Greenview, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Regency Nursing Facility in Springfield.
He was born October 25, 1940 in Petersburg, the son of David and Alma Marie (Horn) Altig.
Robert married Lois “Jeannie” Power in 1961, she preceded him in death in 2017. They celebrated 56 years together.
Mourning his passing are his children; Tony (Susie) Altig of Easton, Kevin Altig of Armington, and Janice (Troy) Whitley of Springfield; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brother-in-laws, Ronnie and Terry Power; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert is also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Altig.
He attended Greenview High School.
Robert served for the U.S. Army.
He owned and operated R.E. Altig Construction.
Robert was a life-time member of Greenview AMVETS.
He loved to garden and watching basketball games.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg.
