Salena (Sally) Mary Page Prohaska, age 90, of Cantrall, passed away on July 14, 2012 at her home.

She is survived by one son, Rudolf (JoAnn) Prohaska of Bloomington; two daughters, Linda (Rich) Gillmore of Petersburg, and Sandra (Phillip) Longen of Springfield; grandchildren, Brandyln (Jeff) Dennis of Petersburg, Katrina (Jeff) Dodge of Plainfield, Kristine (Matt) Glover of Bloomington, Bri (Chris) Tracy of Virginia, and Sarah Longen of Springfield. Great grandchildren, Jack, Rowan and Finnegan Dennis, Kaden and Milena Glover, Avery and Stella Dodge.

She is preceded in death by her sisters and one brother; Mae Page, Bea Hall, Louise Page, Ellen Peters, Jean Page, Mervin Page, and by a grandson, Devan Gillmore in 2006.

Sally was born on September 13, 1921 in Virden, IL, the daughter of John Thomas and Mary Salena (Osborne) Page. She married Rudolf Prohaska on August 27, 1949 in the Virden Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death in 1989.

Sally graduated from Virden High School in 1939. She was employed by the International Shoe Factory in Springfield where she met her husband, the love of her life, before she became a full time mother and homemaker. She worked as a cook at Cantrall Grade School in the Athens School District.

She was a long time member of the Cantrall United Methodist Church. She loved her family and her flowers. Sally and Rudy taught their children to appreciate the things we have in our lives : especially our family and the love we share.

Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm. Services will be held at the Cantrall United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 18 at 10 am. Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Pastor Kathy Swaar of Knox Presbyterian will be officiating.

Memorials can be made to the Menard County Daily Bread (Meals on Wheels), Cantrall United Methodist Church, and The American Diabetes Association.
