Patricia "Pat" Buckley

Patricia “Pat” Buckley, age 90 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. 

Pat was born on July 2, 1934 in Williamsville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Bernice (Parsons) Brennan. 

Mourning her passing are her sons, Clifford “Pete”(wife Kitsy) Bryant of Springfield, Johnny (wife Sue) Bryant of Athens, and Jimmy (companion Roxanne) Bryant of Cantrall; daughters, Patricia Yeates of Athens, Karen Reagon of Cantrall, Kelly (husband Steve) Berndt of Athens; fourteen grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Bryant; and brother; Tommy Brennan.

Pat was a loving mother and grandmother and so proud of all of them. She so enjoyed her family and loved spending time with them especially during the holidays. She was an excellent cook and baker. She received a baking certification which turned into baking many wedding cakes over the years. 

Pat was an avid bowler for many years and was secretary to several bowling leagues. She loved playing cards, playing bingo, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and going to Las Vegas. She never knew a stranger and would talk to anyone she came in touch with. Pat enjoyed sharing childhood stories and always had a good joke to tell. 

Pat was a homemaker and worked at a glass and bottling factory. After leaving the factory work, she owned and operated Mama Ducks Restaurant in Athens for several years. 

Visitation for Pat will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will be held immediately after the services at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
