Pastor David Beals

Pastor David Beals, age 60, of Williamsville, left this life and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by his family on Sunday February 2, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

 He was born on March 12, 1964 in Newton, Iowa, the son of Stanley and Helen (Zemo) Beals. David graduated from Newton High School in Iowa in 1982, later from Citrus College in Glendora, California in 1984, and Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, California in 1991. David married Melinda (Burney) on August 24, 1991, in Alta Loma, California.

He served as Youth Minister at Alta Loma Christian Church in Alta Loma, California, Youth Minister at Community Church of Kamrar in Kamrar, Iowa, and Senior Minister at the Williamsville Christian Church in Williamsville Illinois for twenty-three years. David also served as a Chaplain for the Springfield Police Department for a few years. 

 Mourning his passing and celebrating his life are his wife, Melinda; sons, Kyle (wife Nicole) Beals and Tyler Beals (fiancé Regina Ivy); father, Stanley; sister, Deborah mother and father-in-law, Marilyn and Gene Burney; brother-in-law, Phil (wife Erika); sister-in-law, Sherry (husband David) Curp; and many nieces.

 He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Beals, and infant sisters, Patricia Diann and Mary Frances.

 David was seen by his kids as a mentor, guide, spiritual leader, confident, and friend. His Dad shared that even from a young age, Dave was a strong influence on his friends and with compassion he would point them toward Jesus. He loved bicycling and participated in the Great Cycling Challenge (GCC) to raise funds for children’s cancer research. He also loved riding motorcycles and fishing in his younger years and enjoyed being outdoors, cooking on the grill, going on walks, and shoveling snow in cold weather. He loved cheering on his Iowa Hawkeyes and New Orleans Saints. Most of all, David loved spending time with his family and friends and spreading the Gospel even to those he met during his final days in the hospital.

 Visitation for David will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Reside officiating. There will be a Celebration Dinner immediately following the service. All services will be held at the Williamsville Christian Church in Williamsville, Illinois. In honor of David’s memory, please feel free to dress casually and wear Hawaiian shirts if possible.
