Pamela S. Buchanan, age 57, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Pam was born on March 10, 1961 the daughter of Stan Boydston and Alta Miller.
Pam is survived by four sons; Chris and Brian Jack and Alex and Josh Buchanan; one sister, Kay Lash; one brother, Ron Horton; 15 grandchildren; and several nephews.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents.
Pam retired from the State of Illinois as a Legislative typist after 14 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springfield as well as a member of the Eagles Club.
She enjoyed sewing, crafting, shopping and baking. Pam also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all, Pam enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation for Pam will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (3601 Buckeye Dr, Springfield, IL 62712) from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Noon. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 12:00 PM Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (3601 Buckeye Dr, Springfield, IL 62712.)
Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Springfield.
Memorials can be given to the “American Cancer Society” or “St. Johns Children’s Hospital.”

I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I was lucky enough to meet her and she was very nice lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I went through school with Pam, from kindergarten through high school. I later worked with her when she worked at the Legislative Reference Bureau. I know how much she loved her boys’ and her grandchildren, she would share stories at the office. I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I worked with Pam at LRB for many years, a very kind and loving person. Pam you will be missed by many.
