Nicholas Scott Tice, 58, of Berwyn, PA passed away at Paoli Hospital, Paoli, PA on March 13, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evert and Betty Tice and one brother, Nathan.  He is survived by his brothers, Tom (Carol) and Ted (Lynn); niece, Lauren Tice Birgenheier; and grandniece, Elle Tice Birgenheier.

Nick was baptized into the Greenview United Church.  Nick received special education from three private schools; Cove School, Pathway School, and Elwyn School.  While at Pathway he played intramural basketball.  In 1976 he entered the Devereux private care organization, residing first in Victoria, Texas and later in Berwyn, PA. While at Devereux – PA he was employed at Handi-crafters and was named the most improved worker in 1992.

He found time to exercise, receiving the 5-mile walker’s award and participating in the Special Olympics.  His favorite pastimes were music, reading, and watching movies.   He was very interested in history, especially the Civil War.

Nick was a polite, happy person with a good sense of humor.  He met his challenges cheerfully and without complaint.  He was especially fond of the staff at Devereux.  He will be deeply missed by them as well as his family.

A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Greenview, IL at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 8.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Devereux PA Adult Center, 139 Leopard Rd, Berwyn, PA, 19312 Attn: Dennis Barry.

Following the service there will be a luncheon at the Greenview United Church, hosted by the Women’s Society.
