Windell R. Milner, Sr., age 75, of Fancy Prairie, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

– Harold (Kathy) of New Boston, MO
– Gerald (Joan) of Mt. Pulaski
– Lonnie (Sheila) of Plano, TX
Seventeen Grandchildren
Twenty-three Great-grandchildren
Several Nieces, Nephews, & Cousins
He is preceded in death by three granddaughters and one grandson and his parents.
Windell was born November 5, 1934 in Alicia, Arkansas the son of John Marion and Bertha Mae Evans Milner.
He married Linda L. Roher on October 8, 1961 in Springfield.
Windell graduated from Athens High School in 1953. He was a member of the US Air Force Reserve.
He farmed for many years with his father in the Fancy Prairie area and worked in security for 27 years. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the Fancy Prairie Fire Department.
Windell loved NASCAR, gardening, and tinkering with tools.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral services will be held there on Monday, January 18th at 10:30 AM.
Rev. Owen Englin officiating.
Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association.

You and your family are in my heart and prayers.
I will miss seeing his car parked outside the building when I get in to work early in the morning. It was a sense of comfort to know he was in the building and was going to greet me with a smile and a “good morning”.
I will miss him.

Dear Linda, Windell Jr., Mike, Dale, Debbie and Margie:
I am so sorry for your recent loss of Windell Sr. He was a great man and made a lasting impression on my life. He will be sadly miss, but is in a much better place looking down on you and your family, keeping you safe.
One day the tears will dry and will be filled with smiles again of him. Once again I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
