Michelle Eddings

Michelle Eddings, age 53, of Greenview, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

She was born on September 24, 1970 in Lincoln, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Carolyn (Mosley) Rankin.

Michelle married Willliam Eddings on May 20, 2006 in Greenview, Illinois.

Mourning her passing are her husband, William; mother, Carolyn; sister, Pam (husband Kevin) Curry of Greenview; brothers, Steve (wife Cindy) Rankin of Greenview and Tim Rankin of Greenview;  and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.                                             

She is preceded in death by her father, Harold; and a sister, Susan Adams.

Michelle graduated from Greenview High School in 1988, attended Springfield College, and later graduated from Illinois State University in 1992 with a Bachelors of Science and Criminal Justice.

She worked for the Menard County Assessor’s Office and as Supervisor of the Clerks of the US District Court in Springfield, Illinois.

Michelle worked as Village Clerk of Greenview for many years.

She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Greenview Christian Church.

Michelle loved traveling, camping, the ocean, and especially her fur babies.

Visitation for Michelle will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at the Greenview Christian Church at 10:00 AM.

Burial will be held immediately after services at Elmwood Cemetery near Greenview.
