Meredith, Carolyn Garmers Turnbull

Carolyn Garmers Turnbull Meredith, age 92, of Springfield, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Springfield Terrace.

Survived by: One Son : Jack Turnbull of Andrew One Step-Daughter : Sally Hill of Manito, IL One Step-son : Glenn Meredith of Lincoln Eight Grandchildren Several Great-Grandchildren Several Great-Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews

Mrs. Meredith born January 5, 1915, in Sherman, IL, the daughter of John and Edith Kreis Garmers.

She married Charles “Nip” Turnbull and he preceded her in death. She later married Orville Meredith and he preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a son, Bill Turnbull, a brother, Harold “Lefty” Garmers and two grandsons Chuck and Ronnie.

She worked for Horace Man for 12 years and for Memorial Medical Center for a few years.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 2 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Mott and Henning Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 3 at the funeral home.

Burial at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
