James McAtee, Jr., age 86, of Greenview, IL passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his residence.

James was born on January 24, 1924 in Springfield, IL the son of James W. and Mary Agee McAtee.

He married Mary Lois Eldridge on April 6, 1947.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

He retired from the grain elevator business after 44 years. He owned and operated the grain elevator at Middletown for 20 years.

James served in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He was stationed on the Island of Tinian in a B-29 outfit of the 505 Bomb Group.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and card playing. He was a member of the Greenview United Church serving as a deacon and elder. He was a member of the American Legion Post 116 for over 60 years. He was a member of the Greenview Lodge #653 for over 60 years.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens with Masonic services at 6:45 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 27 at 11 AM.
