So sorry for your loss. So glad we were able to spend some time with “grandma”- especially at Gulf Shores. She was one of a kind and a fabulous lady. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

We were so saddened to hear of Marlene’s passing. We have so many fond memories of spending time with your family. Marlene was always quick to invite us to meals, a few more at the table never seemed to phase her. She was a much better cook than I was!! Where did the time go? We were just newly married when we moved to Athens and thankful that the 2 of you took us under your wings. God knows we needed guidance! We were always treated like extended family. I know how important family was to Marlene and may your memories sustain you through this difficult time. Bernie we wish we were closer but are sending our love to you and your family. Know that you both hold a very special place in our hearts. She will be missed by many! With our sympathy Kalvin and Jana

Marlene was a great lady. I can remember her having a smile and something to say when she and Bernie visited my parents. Marlene was always nice to us (the Beard kids). I know she meant alot to my parents. Marlene and my mom (Mary) can now be sharing stories and laughs. You will be missed. Sincerely, Albert Beard.

What a loss! Sharon and I knew her as a sweet caring person, always ready to listen and help if needed. Our neighborhood and the world will be emptier without her.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Stich family. Auntie Marlene always welcomed us with love and donuts when we visited. My dad tried to make donuts many times and it never worked out, just couldn’t hold a candle to hers. Love, Kelly and family.

So sorry to hear of Marlene’s passing. She and Bernie were so much fun to be around and tolerated so much when Kevin and I were young men. My prayers go out to the entire family but especially to Bernie during this heartbreaking period.

Marlene has always been a great neighbor and friend to our family since the first day we moved in next door to her and Bernie. Over the many years, she has helped Sarah and I, our children, and our pets when they got out of the fence. We will miss our regular talks in the yard, her friendly face, and gentle heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bernie and all the Stich family.
