Marilyn “Joyce” Lisenbee Lash, age 93, of Jacksonville, formerly of Greenview, IL was called home to be with her Lord on April 12, 2022.
She was joyfully reunited with her husband of 67 years, John H. Lash, who passed away July 13, 2016. John and Joyce were married on March 5, 1949 in Jacksonville, IL, they were longtime residents of Greenview, IL. Joyce was born on March 19, 1929 in Granite City, IL to Ebert and Hazel Chambers Lisenbee.
Joyce is survived by four children, Marilyn (Ron) Moore, Julie Pryer, Dan Lash, Dale Lash; nine grandchildren, Sarah Ballard, Justin Moore, Mica Sage, Matthrew Sage, Kasey Miles, Seth Lash, Danna Lash, Arryn Carson, Sean Lash; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Lisenbee; five sisters, Anna Leake, June Jackson, Cheryl Hannah, Linda Jackson, and Lila Lisenbee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, John Allen Lash; brothers, Beryl, Leslie, Jasper and David Lisenbee; and sisters, Darlene Daughtery; two infant sisters, Lola and Marie Lisenbee.
Joyce loved her Lord and was a longtime member of Four Square Gospel Church in Petersburg, IL, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a talented artist, drawing and painting beautiful pictures, and making numerous beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren and many others.
Visitation for Joyce will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating. Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Sweetwater immediately after the services.
Memorial contributions can be made St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
