Marcie Carole Buraski

Marcie Carole Buraski, 70, of Sherman, IL, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at St. John’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

 Born on August 9, 1954, in Springfield, Marcie was the beloved daughter of the late Carl Henry Sours, Jr. and Carole May Beja. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Raymonde Sours, and stepfather, Dave Beja.

 Marcie is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Gary Buraski; her daughters, Melissa Schaive (Brad Schaive) and Rhonda Tyler (Drew Tyler); and her cherished grandchildren, Summer Gosney (Jared Gosney), Sarah Jett (Derek Jett), Jack Tyler, and Lucy Tyler. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Roman Gosney, Remington Gosney, Greyson Gosney, and Charlie Jett, who brought her immense joy.

 She is also survived by her siblings, Kathi Krell (late husband Jim Krell), Julie Kern (Joe Kern), Lori Peterman (Terry Peterman), and her brother Hubbel Smith (Avis), along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

 Marcie was full of energy and spunk. She loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was happiest when everyone was together and when watching the Cubs play baseball.

 Marcie found peace in her faith and looked forward to being reunited with Jesus. She spent her final days surrounded by family and friends, knowing she was deeply loved.

A private funeral will be held for the immediate family.
