Lloyd Leon Starwalt, age 92, of Sherman, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Lloyd was born in Sullivan, IL on January 6, 1930 the son of Oscar “Jack” Leon and Zelma DeVore Starwalt
Mourning his passing are his wife, Patricia; sons, Jack (Sharon) Starwalt of Hot Springs
Village, AR and Steven (Tracy) Starwalt of Sherman; daughters, Pamela (David) Poock of Hot
Springs Village, AR and Sharon (Randall Joe) Goodman of Carlinville; nine grandchildren;
eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Don Starwalt; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson.
He had several jobs in his youth. Lloyd served for the US Army and was a member of the Illinois National Guard and was called to active duty during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he worked for Mobil Oil Company for 30 years. He also drove a school bus for the Williamsville School District for many years and previously worked for the Glenwood Cemetery where he hand dug graves for a couple of years.
Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a square dancer for over 57 years.
He was a member of the Sherman Kiwanis Club, a life-time member of the VFW and the Sherman United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Sherman United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Sherman United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Carrell officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 3:00 PM at Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Pat, my condolences for your loss. I thought a lot of Lloyd and always enjoyed talking to him. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. My God comfort you. Glenn

I knew Lloyd from school bus driving at Williamsville. He was a joy to work with. He was a truly wonderful man! Praying for the family.
