Karl Dean Miller, age 78, of Athens, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at his home.
Karl was born December 4, 1943 the son of Cleo and Vera (Hart) Miller. He graduated from Williamsville High School in 1962. He married Jean Krummel on September 14, 1963.
Karl was a lifelong farmer in the Athens area. He also owned and operated Miller Trucking for a number of years. He was a member of the Illinois National Guard from 1962 to 1968.
Karl was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean; son, Mike (wife, Dawn) Miller, of Athens; three grandchildren, Miranda Belcher (Vince Johnson) of Divernon, Morgan Minier of Athens and Ryan McCain (Jori Huskins) of New Holland and two great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (husband Lee) Cash of Farmer City and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday June 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens with Rev. Schneider officiating.
Memorials contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.

I am so sorry to read of Karl’s passing. I have many good memories of your family from my growing up years in Immanuel Lutheran. My prayers are with you.

Jean, Thank you for sharing Karl with me. Karl was one of the greatest joys of being in Sherman. There was no face better to see at the cafe than that of Karl.
