Karen Fox, age 70, passed away on Monday, October 14, in Athens, Illinois.
She was born on November 25, 1953, in Fayetteville, WV, the daughter of Charles Ralph Bryant and Lelia Ann Bryant.
Mourning her passing are her sister, Wilma Bryant (husband David Crowley); brother, Bruce Bryant (wife Shirley Bryant) as well as her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles Bryant, Michael Bryant and John Bryant.
Karen graduated from Athens High School a semester early and began her nearly 20-year career at the Illinois Office of the Comptroller.
Karen's heart belonged to the children in her extended family. She had a strong presence, often as a caregiver, in many of their lives, providing unconditional love, support and positivity. She was the first to offer a helping hand to people she cared about. She had an incredible sense of humor and a great, contagious laugh that lit up the room.
Karen enjoyed immersing herself for hours in Genealogy research, a hobby that allowed her to identify and connect with extended family members across the country. Her presence in her family will be sorely missed.
Cremation rights will be accorded. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 5:00 PM until time of memorial services at 6:30 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
