Judith (Welch) Fisher, age 71, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born on May 11, 1950 in Taylorville, Illinois, the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Eckler) Welch.
Judy is survived by her brother, David (companion Cindy Manning) Welch; special friend, Gary Baker; nephew, Tyler; niece, Tobie; many other friends; and her three cherished cats.
She graduated from Athens High School in 1968.
Judy worked for the State of Illinois in the Vitals Records Department for 30 years.
She loved collecting 1890s Victorian dolls.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
Memorials can be made to the Animal Protective League in Springfield.

I’m truly sorry for your loss. I’ve known Judy for about 30 years. She was a good friend and always nice to everyone. She spoke very highly of you David. She will be missed.

Judy was a good friend and was always there to help . She will be missed by so many. Condolences to Dave and all who will miss her. She is now reunited with those she loved that have gone before her. I hope she knows how much she was loved. RIP my friend.

Words fail me loved her for twenty years took care of her for the last ten and was her live in care giver the last three she didn’t get the respect in life that she deserved and is getting even less in her death I will miss my companion my Judy k

To Gary, David and family- I just heard about Judy’s passing and am so sorry. I worked with Judy her entire time at Vital Records. She even bought her house from me and my husband. She was such a sweet person and fun to be around. My condolences to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed and remembered!
