Joyce Harrell

Joyce Harrell, age 65, of Athens, passed away on February 20, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 10, 1959 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of John and Violet (Malinowski) Harrell.

Mourning her passing are her children, Brian Harrell and Jennifer Harrell; grandchildren, Conner and Aiden Harrell, Amiya, Yasmine, Faizah, and Rashad; sister, Judi Harrell-Miller (husband Jerry Miller); nephew, Ethan; niece, Mackenzie Miller; and “second daughter”, Aiha Algahmae.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Violet Harrell; and a sister, Leecy Harrell.

Joyce worked for Chair Covers and Linens as a Supervisor for over 10 years.

She loved cooking and watching crime and cooking shows.  

Joyce especially enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandkids.  She was a loving and caring mother to her children, always putting them first.  Joyce was a great sister.  She was the best Nana and Grandma.
