Joseph “Dick” Vignali, age 79, of Sherman, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Villa Health Care East in Sherman.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; children, Damon (wife Lynn) Vignali and Lori (Robert) Whalen; grandchildren, Hunter (Yuko) Whalen, Catie (Ryan) Peyton, Amelia, Ali, and Vince Vignali; and two great-grandchildren, Palmer Peyton and Oscar Whalen.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donnie; and sister, June Howe.
He was born December 16, 1936 in Springfield, IL the son of Henry and Ethel Vignali.
He married Cathy Reinders on November 23, 1957 in St. John Vianney in Sherman. They were married for 58 years.
Dick was a member of the Sherman Athletic Club, Carpenters Union #16, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.
He was a union carpenter and retired from Sangamon County Highway Department.
Dick served for the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 13, 2016 from 9:30 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
Rev. Stunkel and Rev. Schuermann will be officiating.
Memorials can be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Building Fund and the Villa East Healthcare in Sherman.

So sorry for your loss. Dickie was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. Those we love who pass away live on in our hearts. Prayers that you find peace and comfort in your memories.
