Carl E. Johnson, age 89, of Tallula, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Survived by:

Wife : Velma Marie “Rick” Johnson of Tallula One Nephew : Mike (Carla) Johnson of Effingham

One Niece : Patricia (Dave) Morgan of Longmont, CO

Mr. Johnson was born September 26, 1917, the son of Ernest and Emma Rodemer Johnson. He married his first wife LaVerne on June 24, 1938 and then she preceded him in death in November of 1979. He then married Velma Marie Henrichs on August 30, 1980.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Greenview Amvets, Greenview American Legion, Masonic Lodge at Greenview, New Salem Shrine Club, and Shriner’s Club in Springfield. . He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Johnson had farmed all of his life in the Greenview and Tallula area.

Graveside services were held on Sunday April 22, 2007 at Indian Point Cemetery near Athens.
