James Buhr, age 75, of Williamsville, IL passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Donna (Ronald) Gillette of Springfield; brother; Larry (Holly) Buhr of Athens; granddaughter; Nicole Morgan of Springfield; grandson, Lucas Gillette; and several nieces & nephews.
Jim was born December 16, 1939 in Cantrall, IL the son of Raymond and Velma Fawns Buhr.
He married Shirley Poteet on March 30, 1974.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Ann Buhr, and son, David.
James was elected in 2005 to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame: Friend of Basketball. He was timekeeper for Williamsville High School Boys and Girls Basketball for 37 years.
He retired from Royal Crown Bottling Company of Chicago after 22 years as a truck driver.
James served for the U.S. Army National Guard from 1960-1966.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Rev. Ken Gennicks will be officiating.
Burial will be at Joel Hall Cemetery
Memorials can be made to the Booster Club of Williamsville.

Shirley and family, so saddened to hear about Jim. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that loved him.
