Hulda Elizabeth Flagg age 95, of Sherman, passed away on August 5, 2015 at St. John’s Hospital.
She is survived by a son Albert (Tina) Flagg, a daughter Virginia (Everett) Rush of Athens, sister Loretta Castano, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Hulda married Fred Flagg, February 1, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Hulda was born February 1, 1920 in Springfield, IL to John and Clara (Reich) McCutcheon.
She attended Athens High School.
Hulda helped her husband with their trucking and water hauling businesses. She also was an accomplished seamstress, excellent cook, especially her famous chocolate chip cookies, she loved flower gardening, reading any book was also a favorite thing of hers do to, she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great, great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 9-11 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home. Funeral services for Hulda will be immediately following the visitation at 11 AM at on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home.
Officiating Hulda’s service will be Rev. Craig Sweet of Sherman United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to “The American Cancer Society.â€
Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
