Ewing Edwin Holt, age 78, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.
Survived by: Wife – Lena Mae Holt Daughter – Melanie (Gregg) Humphrey of Springfield Son – Dion Holt of Springfield Brothers – James Holt of Clarksville, TN – John L. Holt of Danville, IL – Houston Holt of Danville, IL Sister – Kathryn Cooper of Sweetwater, IL Three Grandsons – William Humphrey II – Alexander Humphrey – Jack-Ewing Holt
He is preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers, and his parents.
Ewing was born December 13, 1929 in Clarksville, Tennessee the son of Lundy Albert and Jenny Bell Holt.
He attended Sango School in Clarksville, Tennessee. Ewing served for the United States Army from 1948 thru 1951 and was a member of the Sweetwater Christian Church.
Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home from 5 until 8 PM on Thursday. Funeral services will also be held there on Friday at 10:00 AM.

Burial will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Sweetwater.
