Pearl Heward, age 93, of Sherman, formerly of Princeton, IL, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Villa Health Care in Sherman, IL.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne (David) Smith of Springfield and Joanne L. (Paul) Flynn of East Peoria; four grandchildren, Laura Antenan and Julia Southwood both of Springfield, Jennifer Duffey of Valley Park, MO, and Brian Flynn of Erie, CO; step-grandchildren, Mark A. Smith of Decatur, Christine Rhone of Springfield, David C. Smith and Michael N. Smith both of Texas; seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 1998; her parents; and a brother, Daniel Jenkins.
Pearl was born, October 2, 1921 in Princeton, IL, the daughter of Daniel C. and Blanche Mitchell Jenkins.
She was a member of the Sherman United Methodist Church since 1963.
Pearl retired from the State of Illinois Department of Secretary of State in 1983.
She graduated from Princeton High School in 1939 in Princeton, Illinois.
Pearl enjoyed bible studies and crossword puzzles.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 until of funeral services 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Sherman United Methodist Church.
Rev. Bob Ervin will be officiating.
Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 2 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
Memorials can be made to Sherman United Methodist Church or the Memorial Home Hospice.

We will all miss this sweet lady, may you know that our love and prayers are with you all as you pass through this difficult time. Pearl was a good friend and neighbor we enjoyed being SLOBS with our other friends. Love and prayers for the family.
