Henrikson, Norma

Norma C. Henrikson, age 87, of Greenview, passed away at her home on Friday, December 14, 2012.

She is survived by one son, Erick Roger (Linda) Henrikson of Athens, IL; one daughter, Nancy Kaye (Charles) Good of Boulevard, CA; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, in November of 2009, and by two brothers.

Mrs. Henrikson was born in Rochester, IL, the daughter of Millard Vernon and Pearl Craig Beck. She married Allen E. Henrikson August 14, 1946, at the 3rd Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Rev. H.M. Hildebrand performed the service.

She worked with her husband Allen for 10 years with Youth for Christ in the 1950’s. She also worked for Franklin Life Insurance Co. for four years and later worked for the Illinois Secretary of State for four years.

They later moved to San Diego, CA, where they spent the next 20 years. She was President of the PTA for two years and worked with the 4-H and FFA Clubs while in CA. She was active in the 1st Presbyterian Church and served as Deacon in the Skyline Western Church in San Diego.

She was a member of the 3rd Presbyterian Church in Springfield for over 65 years. She was a member of the Athens Christian Church and later became a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Athens. She enjoyed being involved with antique cars.

Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home, Athens, from 5:00 until 7:00 on Monday, December 17, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at New Life Baptist Church at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

Burial will be in Indian Point Cemetery near Athens.
