Hartung, Anita

Anita K. Hartung, age 85, of Petersburg, formerly of Flora and Athens, died Saturday January 19, 2008 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

Survived by: Two Daughters : Stephanie (husband Robert W.) Churchill of Athens – Monica Maxwell of Athens

Mrs. Hartung was born October 3, 1922 in Dixon, Iowa, the daughter of Albert C. and Camilla M. Heuer Ketelsen.She married Vernon B. Hartung in 1944 in Davenport, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon on August 27, 2000.She is also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three uncles.

Mrs. Hartung and her husband owned and operated an independent insurance agency in Flora for 35 years and retired in 1985. She was a member of Indian Point Presbyterian Church.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Private graveside services will be held at Indian Point Cemetery near Athens with Rev. Lonnie R. Clemens officiating. Mott & Henning Funeral home in Athens is in charge of arrangements.
