I’m sorry to hear about Harriett’s passing. I have a lot of good memories of her when she lived at countryside. My prayers are with her family, Julie Atterberry

I was saddened to read about the death of your aunt Harriett. I was delighted to meet her and tell of her family names in “Leaves of the Gum Tree” after I figured we were related through our Gum family (4th cousins 2x removed). Then I knew who to say ‘hi’ to when she worked the church dinners in Cantrall.

I met Harriet at a ladies breakfast at Ray’s Route 66 restaurant in Sherman. She gave me two recipes (hand-written) for pear honey, so that I could use my own pears. One had low-sugar so I made that one, when I was first married 20 years ago. I am so thankful for her thoughtfulness. I am a member of the Sherman UMC, but she wasn’t attending worship at that time. I sure wish I would have gotten to know her a bit better. Peace and strength to her other friends and especially God bless her family in their time of sorrow.
