George A. Hamrick, age 79, of Williamsville, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital.
He is survived by two sons, Keith (Judy) Hamrick & Kraig Hamrick both of Williamsville; a daughter Kathy (Randy) Thompson of Williamsville; two grandchildren Jen-Luc & Cassandra Abeln; four step-grandchildren, Nathan Thompson, Zach (Renee) Thompson, Rachel Thompson, and Jorie Thompson.
George was born July 8, 1932, the son of Bert and Laura Woods Hamrick.
George had married Gaye Beauchamp on June 22, 1961 in Middletown. He was preceded in death by his wife Gaye on April 7, 2006, a brother, Howard Hamrick, and a sister, Marian Hamrick.
He worked for Hobart for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Riverton :Lavely Lodge #786 for 52 years. He was a life member of the Williamsville Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Williamsville United Methodist Church, and a member of the Sangamon Valley Crystal Busters.
Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 7 PM with Masonic services at 7 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Williamsville United Methodist Church. Rev. Dick Piscatelli will be officiating.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
Memorials may be made to the Williamsville Volunteer Fire Department or the Riverton-Lavely Lodge #786.
