Raymond Hamilton, age 67, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at his home in Athens.
He is survived by his children, Misty Hamilton of Texas, Amy (Steve) Livingston of Springfield, and Raymond Hamilton II of Sherman, Kati Hamilton of Athens; sisters, Rose Hamilton Leamon, and Betty (Jim) Hamilton Jenning of Athens; brother, George Hamilton; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Hamilton and his mother, Mildred Adams; and a sister, Darlene Richardson.
He was born on September 25, 1946 in Springfield.
He was a member of the VFW and a Purple Heart recipient along with many other awards for his service in the United States Marine Corp.
He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends daily, mushroom hunting, watching wildlife, and loved his grandchildren dearly.
He was the friendliest, most generous, and all around great guy!
He was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 until 7:00 Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Funeral services will be held will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
Memorials can be made to the family.

I am so so sorry to have read this. I just saw him a couple days ago at work and he gave me crap cause I gave him some pennies back. I returned his crap giving with a big hug! My thoughts and prayers with the whole family as I know how difficult this IA for everyone!

I was so sorry to hear of Raymond’s passing. He was such a nice guy and will be missed by many.
