Mr. Griffin was born July 21, 1933 in Mason City, IL the son of John and Mina Raugh Griffin. He is preceded in death by a brother Harold Griffin and a sister Martha Jane Starr.
He married Dolores Hawkins on November 4, 1956 at the Southside Christian Church in Springfield. They were married for 51 years.
He graduated from Mason City High School in 1951. Mr. Griffin was a coach for 10 years for the Khoury League Baseball. He was a cub scout master and Indian Guide Leader.
Mr. Griffin served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1952 to 1955 and then returning to Springfield, IL. Mr. Griffin was employed for 16 years at Armco/Contech as a supervisor. He then later worked at the Secretary of State Driver’s License Facility for 18 years as a driver’s license examiner.
Visitation will be on Monday February 4th at Mott & Henning from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 P.M.
Officiating: Rev. John Wentze & Nash Shawgo
Burial will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery
