Gerd Bennett, age 43, of Athens, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
He was born on October 17, 1974 in West Covina, CA the son of Deborah Gillum.
Gerd is survived by his wife, Beverly Bennett; three children, Kayla, Kyle, Kaleb Bennett; mother, Deborah Gillum; mother in law and father in law, Brian and Vanessa Neavill; half-sister, Tammy Renee Bennett; brother in law, Bradley Thompson, step brother, Derek Neavill; grandfather Chester Bennett, as well as several nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy and Gertrude Brown; grandmother, Gertrud Bennett; as well as an aunt and uncle, Fred and Tjuana White.
Gerd loved his family and his wife of 21 years unconditionally. He was an avid online video game player, member of “The Herd,” where he played under the name of “Windingbeast.” He loved attending concerts with his children, enjoyed watching his daughter, Kayla cheerlead and enjoyed watching both of his sons, Kyle and Kaleb play football.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
