Garrisson, Helen

Helen Garrisson, age 89, of Andrew, passed away on December 22, 2012 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.

Helen was born November 11, 1923 to Edward & Ethel Turnbull. She married James Garrisson on December 5, 1945.

She is survived by a son, Jim (Diana) Garrisson; two daughters, Kay (Jim) Walker and Melody (Tim) Bredberg; grandchildren, Dee, Dara, Shawn, Shane, Jimmy, Andy, Jeremy, Laura & Savanah; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Callie, Sydney, Kierra, Bradley & Gavin.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband James in 1984; a daughter, Linda Anderson in 1993; grandson, James Hall; brother, Charles (Nip) Turnbull & a sister Ethel (Babe) Collins. Helen worked for the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk office for 27 years, retiring in 1993.

Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home, where friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2012. Rev. Jarrett Wells will officiate.

Burial will be held at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
