Fitch, Ellamarie

Ellamarie Fitch, age 98, of Lincoln formerly of Sweetwater, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Lincoln Christian Home in Lincoln, Illinois.

She was born on March 20, 1915 in Sweetwater, the daughter of Vernon and Stella Reed Grant.

She is survived by her daughter Vernalee McKee of Greenview; one sister Reeda (Bill) Charis of Champaign; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law Anne Fitch of Springfield.

Mrs. Fitch was preceded in death by a daughter Wilda, a brother Robert and by her parents.

Mrs. Fitch retired from the State of Illinois and was a member of the Sweetwater Christian Church.

She loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She was very easy to spot at any event with her gold shoes and her “bling”. She was a devoted Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching them play. In her younger days she enjoyed Big Band music and was an avid dancer.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Sweetwater Christian Church at 11 AM.

Rev. Roger James will be officiating.

Burial will be held at Indian Point Cemetery.
