Loren Eugene Fawns, age 70, of Athens, passed away on October 14, 2012 at St. John’s Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, son; Kevin (Karen) Fawns, daughter; Karen (Edwin) Hedge all of Athens. Grandchildren; Andrew Clotfelter, Blake (Heidi) Clotfelter, Ashley Fawns, Katie Hedge and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters; Shirley Stewart of Petersburg, and Harriett Lindsey of Springfield.
Loren was born on November 27, 1941 in Athens, IL, the son of Ingram and LeeEtta Ferguson Fawns. He is preceded in death by his parents. Loren married Barbara Blakley on November 30, 1963 in Sherman. He worked at Fiat Allis in management for 24 years. He moved to Iowa in 1985 retiring from Wady Industry in 2003.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 17 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Athens.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials can be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church Capital Campaign or St. John’s Hospice.

Even though I had not seen Loren in years, It was sad to hear of the loss of one of my classmates from grade school through high school. My condolences to his family.

I attended Athens High with Loren. He was always friendly. I’m sorry for your loss.
