Dorothy B. Evers, age 94 of Petersburg, formerly of Greenview, died December 26, 2010 at Mason City Nursing Home.

Norma Jean (Reggie) Dowell of Greenview
Grandchildren : Lori Jones, Lisa Dempsey, Sara Killebrew, Angela Flessner, John Leinberger, DeAnn Hoard, David Dowell, Lynn Plattner, Eric Evers, Melanie Stanley, John David Evers & Stacey Hughes.

Mrs. Evers was born November 15, 1916 in West Frankfort, IL., the daughter of Lewis and Ethel Cowen Bullington. .
She married Garrett H. Evers on December 25, 1937 in Greenview. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2001, her son John Lewis Evers in 2005 and her brother Ben and sister Lorraine Zemlan.
Mrs. Evers graduated from West Frankfort High School in 1934, then moved to Springfield in 1934 and entered the Nursing Program at Springfield Hospital where she graduated in 1937. Mrs. Evers was an active member of the Greenview United Church and Women’s Fellow ship Group. She was a homemaker and owner operator of Homestead Antique Shop at Greenview for many years. Mrs. Evers moved to Countryside Estates in February of 2003 in Petersburg. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Greenview United Church with Funeral Services following at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
