Kathryn Eschenfeldt age 83, of Springfield, formerly of Sherman, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Concordia Village in Springfield, IL.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy Eschenfeldt of Loveland, CO. & Fred Eschenfeldt of Andrew; two daughters Julia Eschenfeldt of Palatine & Stephanie Wyffels of Palmer Lake, CO; Seven grandchildren; Timothy and Christie Eschenfeldt; Nicholas and Neal Bukiet; and Ryan, Austin and Joshua Wyffels and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Kathryn was born June 4, 1928, in Athens, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy Oschwald Hinds. She married Robert F. Eschenfeldt on October 25, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Athens. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2005. Kathryn worked for 10 years at the Division of Rehabilitation for the State of Illinois. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield and was an active member of Ladies Aid.
Visitation will be held at Mott & Henning Funeral Home, in Athens, where friends may call from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday August 13, 2011 and where funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
Rev. Thomas Radtke will be officiating.
Burial will be held at Indian Point Cemetery, near Athens.
Memorials can be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Camp Cilca.
