Elson L. Nance

Elson Lee Nance, age 52, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at his residence.

He was born January 5, 1972, the son of Thomas and Shirley (Sherren) Nance.

Mourning his passing are his daughters, Brianna Heidloff and Adrian Nasi; three grandchildren, Orrin Anderson, Xzavier Newton, and Azariah Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Shirley (Sherren) Nance; and brothers, George, Sr. and Thomas Nance.  

He graduated from Williamsville High School in 1991.  

Elson worked for Lake Area Disposal and Recycling for 18 years as a sanitation worker.

He loved his beloved dog, Taz.

Elson was an avid fisherman and loved to teach his grandchildren how to drive his boat.

Visitation for Elson will be held from 2:00 PM until time of funeral services at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 29. 2024 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens with Rev. Ken Gennicks officiating.

Burial will be held immediately after the services at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
