Elaine Elliott, age 60, of Petersburg, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She is survived by her husband Bill; her children, Ron (Betsy) Elliott of Petersburg, Kari (Nick) Leitze of Peoria, Brian Elliott of Mason City; grandchildren, Alex Fernandes of Bloomington; Liam Elliott and Cailin Elliott of Collinsville; Ava Leitze, Rowan Leitze and Harper Leitze of Peoria; siblings, Jean Deiss of Lakeland, FL, John (Paulette) Colson of Girard, IL, Carol (Doug) Baker of Springfield, Calvin Colson of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Colson; and a brother, David Snedigar.

She was born on July 25, 1953 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of John and Ruth (Williams) Colson.

She married Bill Elliott on October 26, 1971

Elaine graduated from PORTA High School in 1969.

She has been employed by the Real Estate Group in Springfield for the past 10 years.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.

Rev. Blake Canterbury will be officiating.

Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg.

Memorials can be made to Menard County Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.

Family is being served by Mott & Henning Funeral Home, in Athens, IL.
