Esther L. Cox, age 97, of Sherman, formerly of Williamsville, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Villa Health Care in Sherman.
She was born on April 13, 1924 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Eickmeyer) Tiemann.
Esther married James Ross Cox on July 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1985.
Mourning her passing are a son, Donald (Karen) Cox of Riverton; daughter, Jackie (Lowell, deceased) Eaves of Timpson, TX; granddaughter, Sarah Cox of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Gillespie High School in 1942.
Esther was a homemaker all her life.
She loved cross-stitching, working on puzzles, going to garage sales, birds, her three dogs, Cindy, and dearly loved her grand-pups. Esther was known by her family as a part-time detective.
A private graveside service for Esther will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman.

My condolenced to Esther’s family. I have fond memories of Esther when she lived in Williamsville and when she attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. May God give give you peace and comfort.

My thoughts and prayers for family and friends. Aunt Esther always had a smile to share and could always make you laugh. I remember spending time with her when I was younger. Forever in our hearts. ❤

I knew Easter through Daily Bread. I always enjoyed my visits with her. She was a very sweet person who I know will be greatly missed by her family.
