Douglas Magee

Douglas Magee, age 60, of Athens, passed away on Sunday January 14, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born August 31, 1963 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Arthur Magee and Linda (Rogers) Asher.

Mourning his passing are his mother, Linda; aunts, Vicki Lee Mester, Deborah, Jane Burt; uncle, Michael Dean Rogers; nephew Matthew Scott McLean and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father; a sister, Colleen McLean; aunts, Phyllis, June Rogers, Mary Marie Rogers; uncles, Carl Allen Rogers, Thomas Alvis Rogers; and his grandparents.

Douglas attended PORTA High School and Athens High School.

He was a climber for a few local tree trimming companies and he was an organic farmer as well.

Douglas was an honorary member of the VFW.

He loved to fish and was an avid pool player. He loved Mountain Dew and enjoyed eating his favorite food, peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwiches.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Burial of cremains will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Petersburg, Illinois.
